World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international body of individuals and companies dedicated to developing and advancing web technologies and concepts. It has no official authority over the internet or internet-related companies in a traditional sense, but it is the de facto authority on the standard technologies and protocols for the web today. It is responsible for numerous technologies, including HTML, CSS, and XML.
