PHP is a very common server-side scripting language most commonly run in Linux or Unix servers. It is often the P in the LAMP environment. PHP is use to create dynamic pages, shopping carts and many other type of sites on the internet.

While PHP was created by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994 PHP has grown over the years and is now implemented by the PHP Group and serves as a de facto standard for PHP. PHP is also a Free software release under the Free Software Foundation
