Techniques like keyword density within paragraphs as well as keyword placement within the title of the webpage, Meta tags and the bolding, underline and italicizing of keywords within the webpage are a few of the SEO techniques that will impact traffic to your site. 3. [Apache] Just use the “Personal Web Sharing” feature in that and you will be on your way to developing a good html site. A good place to get all your software updates and tutorials.

4. [ textmate ] It does not matter if you are a programmer or a designer this is one tool that all mac users should use to write code.

5. [ Firefox ] I know, it would be mundane to mention this but with the plugins that exist for this browser it makes it for ease for web designing. Plug ins such as : [ firebug,  and Colorzilla ]

Well there you have it, a few small simple tools to get you on your way to a basic web design.

One primary thing that a web site does is to disseminate information to a viewer. If the design is good the user is lead around the page by the designer and guided from one location to another. Instead of heading around aimlessly looking for information.

The first thing that one looks at a good web site is the logo. Most cases as in stationary this is located in the top left . As mentioned, this is in most cases as this makes the user who is used to seeing a logo at that location. Invariably there are always exceptions.

But a logo is not only keystone to a website, an image is needed to give main body and text more substance.

How the information is arranged in the first page, like the cover of a magazine lures the viewer to explore further.

There are a few techniques that designers use to enhance the main page which are:

• Position - How you organize the different parts on the main page. Call it Feng Shui if you may.
• Color - The color combination is what pleases the eye, have 2 stark bold contrasting colors will definitely be off putting.
• Size - This is another factor that one has to consider, the size of the fonts, columns, banners, buttons. They have to have a perfect combination of both.
